PDS – Grants Available for Ministers & Churches

Presbyterian Development Society (PDS) (Formerly PSDS) exists solely for the purpose of serving the Presbyterian and associated churches, the core purpose being to provide grants to ministers, individual churches and national projects where funds are available.
PDS makes grants towards the:
• purchase of mission related church equipment, -Audio visual, sound, IT.
• support for minister’s study-leave,
• children & youth ministry,
• innovative ministry projects
• Ministry internship and leadership projects.

Preference is given to projects where a PDS grant is a shared contribution. Refer to link below for flyer

Donation Tax Credits under the Income Tax Act 2007

Over recent years staff at the Connexional Office of the Methodist Church have had to deal with concerns expressed by congregational members that the Inland Revenue Department have rejected donations paid to the church by them.

Please refer to the following links to three documents which are the same, other than the language within them. One is in English, one is in English with Tongan translation and the other is English with a Samoan translation.

The document are the latest information available and if followed should allow for the smooth processing of tax donation receipts for the tax year ending 31 March 2018.
