Glenfield Community Church is looking for a person who will lead our community ministry into a new season. GCC’s vision of becoming the heart and hub of Glenfield began 5 years ago and has made important inroads into the heart of our local community through connecting, building and being a community together. As we look into a new season of community ministry, we seek a Community Pastor to follow where God is leading by helping us hear the hopes, dreams and needs of Glenfield — a diverse, family-friendly suburb known for its strong multicultural community.
The Community Ministry Pastor will work closely with the Senior Minister to prayerfully discern the way forward and to connect the church and community to grow together. Community Pastor will lead GCC’s community ministry through existing platforms, partnerships and connections. Engage and develop new partnerships with local community and social services. Regularly, inspire and inform the church on their findings and learnings missionally and theologically so that GCC’s community ministry becomes a team ministry overseen by the Community Pastor.
Successful candidate will have:
- A living faith in Jesus Christ
- Team ministry leadership experience
- Experience in working interculturally
- Experience and working knowledge of community development (preferred)
- Strong self management
- Interpersonal skills
- Commitment to community
- Excellent communication and reporting
- Theological training (preferred)
- Integrity and accountability
20 hours per week
