Glenfield Community Church is looking for a person who will lead our community ministry into a new season. GCC’s vision of becoming the heart and hub of Glenfield began 5 years ago and has made important inroads into the heart of our local community through connecting, building and being a community together. As we look into a new season of community ministry, we seek a Community Pastor to follow where God is leading by helping us hear the hopes, dreams and needs of Glenfield — a diverse, family-friendly suburb known for its strong multicultural community.

The Community Ministry Pastor will work closely with the Senior Minister to prayerfully discern the way forward and to connect the church and community to grow together. Community Pastor will lead GCC’s community ministry through existing platforms, partnerships and connections. Engage and develop new partnerships with local community and social services. Regularly, inspire and inform the church on their findings and learnings missionally and theologically so that GCC’s community ministry becomes a team ministry overseen by the Community Pastor.

Successful candidate will have:

• A living faith in Jesus Christ
• Team ministry leadership experience
• Experience in working interculturally
• Experience and working knowledge of community development (preferred)
• Strong self management
• Interpersonal skills
• Commitment to community
• Excellent communication and reporting
• Theological training (preferred)

The Presbytery Council in May 2026 agreed to a restructure of the Property and Finance Workgroup and a review of the Treasurer role. This is due to the increasing workload of both the workgroup and the treasurer, in part because of the increase in initiatives aiming to grow and develop churches and other forms of ministry, including new church plants.

Currently the Treasurer has focused on financial management and reporting, plus completing transactions. The review is to clarify the essential responsibilities of a Treasurer and to establish the new role of Accounts Payable Clerk.

The purpose of the Accounts Clerk is to take care of the day to day financial needs of the Presbytery, including: recording transactions, payments processing, payroll processing of Presbytery staff or those seconded.

The workload of the Property and Finance Workgroup has become increasingly large, and it has relied upon a largely voluntary and ageing group of long-term members that have, over the years, contributed greatly. To better support the Workgroup the new role of Property Support Officer has been established, with an estimate of an average of 16 hrs/ week, fixed term, for an initial three year period.

The workgroup meets monthly for up to two hours, except January. They meet face to face, or via zoom, and there are on occasions an additional meeting to address an urgent matter(s).

The purpose of the role is to provide practical property support for churches and the workgroup regarding property approvals, property assessments, property improvements, plus liaising between the workgroup and churches undertaking maintenance or property development over $100k. The role can also provide initial advice for a church contemplating significant maintenance and/or development, plus knowledgeable to refer to suitable contractors to provide specialist support.

Alongside this increased workload have been some issues, such as timely attention, communication and transparency. Plus, the capital held by Presbytery is increasing due to the sale of buildings, requiring a stronger strategic, and in some areas professional expertise to make best use of these funds. It has therefore been decided to restructure the Property & Finance Workgroup to ensure it meets the current and future needs of our churches and other forms of ministries, including church plants and other developments. The restructure includes advertising for a Convenor.

The workgroup meets monthly for up to two hours, except January when there are no meetings. Normally the meetings are face to face, but can be held electronically. Additional meetings are at times required for urgent maters, which are usually held electronically.

Applications and expressions of interest are invited to fill the role of Complaints Officer of the Northern Presbytery. The voluntary position is a key point of contact for those in the Presbyterian churches in the Northern Presbytery wishing to bring forward a complaint. Often a Presbytery Complaints Officer is the first contact. Their role is to assist the person seeking to lay a complaint as per chapter 15 of the Book of Order in understanding the process. The role does not include assessment or comment about the complaint itself. The person we are seeking will have the aptitude to listen without judgement, to discern the concerns and to inform about the PCANZ Complaints Process.

Knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of the Presbytery and in particular Chapter 15 of the Book of Order would be helpful background. More important is the sensitivity in receiving and addressing the concerns of the complainants.

Although the complaints process is very rarely used, it is incumbent on the Presbytery to have more than one complaints officer.

Northwest Presbyterian Churches (Auckland)

Northwest Presbyterian Churches (NPC) is a cluster of evangelically-minded churches, with its largest and most multi-cultural church at Massey/Westgate.

We are looking to strengthen our current ministry staff team with one or more ministry people, either part-time or full-time.

These roles will primarily be at the Massey church, but may also be combined in some ways with work in a new church plant. We are open to both ordained ministers (Presbyterian or otherwise) and to non-ordained people with appropriate giftedness, training and experience.

Overlapping areas where we need to strengthen our team include an assistant/associate pastor role at Massey (possibly with potential for a future senior pastor role), youth and young adult ministries, pastoral care, evangelism, discipleship, church planting, and ministries among particular cultures.
