Ministries

Mission

By working together we are committed to being a network of churches and ministry enterprises that reflect the gospel of Christ.

Our Churches and Ministries are vibrant, life- giving, growing and making disciples, culturally adapted to their settings and reaching across generations and ethnicity.

Our Communities gather to worship, hear from God, love and support each other, and encourage each other in Christian service and witness.

Our churches are renowned for hospitality and generosity, deeply committed to justice and transformation through God’s saving grace, sharing Christ in attitude, deed and word in wider society.

We are innovative and imaginative, connecting authentically with children and young people, and reframing the one gospel in many and varied ways in our worship and life. We are establishing new initiatives giving fresh expression to the gospel is a core feature of our network.

Mission Enabler & Revitalise Team Leader

Rev Dr Emma Keown

Church Enabler Northern Presbytery

The role of Church Enabler was established to help facilitate, encourage, and support churches be vibrant, life-giving, growing and making disciples, culturally adapted to their setting, and reaching across generations and ethnicity. In July 2025 the role changed to include Revitalise Northern Presbytery (half time).

The role is split into three parts as follows:
Enabling Mission

Supporting the Mission Fund Committee and churches that achieve grants to initiate mission. Supporting these churches as they creatively connect with their communities, building bridges and connecting to the church.

Promoting New Iniatives

Facilitating and supporting new church/ministry initiatives that aim to grow our church throughout the NP. Bringing together our Pioneers who are planting new churches or are reframing church for a new generation.

Grow Vibrancy

Undertaking other activities that contribute to churches becoming vibrant, life-giving, growing, and making disciples.

This includes:

Revitalise NP: pro-actively bringing Revitalisation to our churches across NP.
Congregational Reviews: Mandatory reviews every 5 years across NP.

The Northern Presbytery Strategic plan guides much of the work which is concentrated in the following areas:
Our churches are vibrant and growing

We will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.

Bring people together
Focusing on relationship and connection.
  1. Extend the revitalisation for our churches, led by us.
  2. Initiate, support and learn from new forms of ministry and community outreach.
  3. Gather together to intentionally pray, hear God’s word, worship and collectively discern God’s will for his Church.
  4. Promote and support community focused mission initiatives.
  5. Promote and facilitate churches and Presbytery being intercultural.
Our Churches are engaged with their communities

Therefore, go and make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
